Lunar Workshops for Educators

The Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) Lunar Workshops for Educators (LWEs) are a series of 5-day workshops for formal and informal educators of grades 6-12 interested in learning more about the Moon. (link to new LWE website)

International Observe the Moon Night

The International Observe the Moon Night (InOMN) is an annual event where, around the world, the public, amateur astronomers, and scientists come together to view the Moon.

Lunar Student Imaging Project

The Lunar Student Imaging Project (LSIP) allows students to propose to acquire an image from the LRO Camera and be the first to analyze and report their findings to the LROC scientists.

Moon Exploration Student Data Teams

The Moon Exploration Student Data Teams (MESDT) engages students in research opportunities using Mini-RF (radar) data.

Mini Moon Wall

The Mini Moon Wall is a portable, 3-display system that utilizes LRO data and allows the user to "fly" over the lunar surface. The Mini Moon Wall is intended for use in informal science institutions. Applications for temporary loan of the Mini Moon Wall can be found here (link to pdf).

LRO Educator Kits

The LRO Educator kits contain science background material, tactile models of volcanoes on Earth, Moon, and Mars, and non-consumable materials needed to perform hands-on activities related to lunar science. Applications for temporary loan of a LRO Educator Kit can be found here soon.
